Phoenix Kiln

This is a variation of the Olsen Fast Fire ‘Phoenix Kiln’.

A large firebox directly under the kiln. Chamber of approximately 1m sq. Huge metal bars separate top and bottom fire boxes. The chimney is 10 feet from ground level.

It fired perfectly, thanks to my friend, Steve Parry, following his graph. From initial preheat to 1350 degrees centigrade in twelve hours
- 100% success, no pots exploded, but one brick melted!

Fig, Acorn and Oak ash glazes all reduced and gave effective results.
