Pottery Lessons

Learning from Grandpa!

Normal Hours: 10.00 – 12.00 /14.00 – 16.00
(Lessons in 2 hour blocks)
Hourly Rate £25

I suggest that beginners do only 1 x 2 hour session per day and work up to whole days.
Emphasis is on throwing, for beginners all clay is provided, for advanced students a charge will be made for materials.

Pottery should be fun, regardless of ability. I work with one student per wheel and never have more than 3 students at a time; this enables me to spend quality time and provide an intensive but enjoyable experience. Please contact us for further details.

At present I am using an adapted ‘Phoenix’ cross draught kiln. This is fuelled by waste timber from the building industry that would, otherwise, end up in landfill.
Interested students can enrol on kiln firing sessions – please contact me to discuss further.

I have been passing on, as I hate the word teaching, my skills and knowledge for some years now.  Many students have gone on to set up studios for themselves and our relationship continues.   I am always available for advice, especially when buying used equipment and generally there, if required, if it all goes wrong, and it does!

Pottery is a life experience and we should feel privileged to work alongside this incredible material.  Remember, if you enjoy making it that’s all that matters!
